Nr. Ebersbach - Neubeuern, Germany

Thursday 8th August

Moving on this morning, we travelled to a campsite we'd picked out just east of Ulm.  However, we thought it looked rather shabby as we drove in and wondered if we'd made the right choice.  But sometimes decisions are made for us - the lady in reception told us that they were full, she phoned another site and booked us a pitch there!  And what a beautiful place it was too - Camping Stubenweiher, way off the beaten track, lots of space and by a small lake.

 Friday 9th August

Moving on again, we hit the traffic just after Muchen - but at least we could see the mountains!
After an hour of creeping along we decided to come off the motorway sooner than planned and headed for a camperstop in Neubeuern in Bavaria.
The shop second from the left is the bakery/cafe where we enjoyed kaffee, eis chocolade and apfel kuchen.
The church was a cool break from the 31deg.  Very ornate, but beautiful.

The castle on the rock.  We walked up to it - it appears to be a school now.

  1. Glad you are enjoying sunshine and appear to have avoided the storms. Fred and I are in Amiens for the night, well on our way home. We are going to visit the old town tomorrow before heading to Calais. The family had a bad time getting home, particularly Al and Andy who were stuck on the tarmac at Basel and then found themselves with no trains going past Three Bridges! It seems that most of the transport network was affected by power cuts. Hope to see some more pictures soon. xx
