Slovenia to Austria
Friday 30th August
With a black sack containing all our wet clothing from yesterday sitting in our shower cubicle, we said a sad/happy good-bye to sLOVEnia (this logo appears on lots of things), having really enjoyed our travelling around this friendly and clean country for the last 19 days. But we are looking forward to more adventures as we journey home - we still have 12 days more.
As we passed through Bled, we stopped for some shopping at Mercator and a quick geocache at the Information Centre opposite. The clue was the red room - as you can see we found it - and that cardboard tube was down between the tree stumps, containing the largest log book ever!
Saturday 31st August
The Austrian Malta is beautiful. The village sign.
The village.

We had made a plan to walk beside the river in the valley (not surprisingly called Malta) to the waterfall further upstream and then catch a bus back. As we left the site, John went into reception to ask about the buses. Good job he did, because the bus doesn't run on Saturdays!
So we decided to walk part way to view the falls and then turn back.

We met this little chap on the way.

We were about a mile from the Fallbach, so we had a distant view.
It has been quite a hot day, so the cows needed to cool off on their way to milking this afternoon.
This is not a real one! But the 'stonehenge' beside the road is quite impressive.
The campsite has a few resident animals including some cute goats and their kids.
And here's another cutie, cooling off in the pool after our 6.5 mile walk. (The other member of our party decided the water was just a bit too cool!)

We did buy a couple of the Bled speciality cakes to eat later in the day.
We were soon in Austria again and settled for a couple of days at a site in Malta, a village in the Maltatal, the Malta valley. First job - give the rain-washed clothes a proper wash and get them out to dry.

Our walk had included one geocache, which meant that we had found a cache each day this last week, earning us a virtual 'souvenir' for Streak Week!
