Bonzee - Banteux
Sunday 8th September
So much for exploring the village of Ottrott this morning - it was rain stop play! We really didn't fancy getting wet so decided to move on. The village wouldn't be so pretty without sunshine anyway.
This awful photo is our France Passion farm/vineyard as we are leaving this morning!
We covered quite a few miles with on and off rainy periods but landed in the dry at an unusual campsite not far off the A4 autoroute east of Verdun and between the villages of Fresnes-en-Woevre and Bonzee. The lake is in the centre of a park open to the public, with various recreational areas, including the Ste. Marguerite camping.
Monday 9th September
This morning's blue sky makes the site look even more attractive. I'm standing under a huge tree.
A lot more driving this morning - these French motorways are not quite like our M25 on a Monday morning!

Today we've stopped at an Aire for Camping Cars beside the Canal du St. Quentin at Banteux, south of Cambrai.

It was the largest, emptiest site we've been to! It's so difficult to choose a pitch when there are so many to choose from. We settled on the biggest!

We are about an hour and a half from Calais, but that's not till Wednesday. Tomorrow we shall stop in St. Omer for a final fling at our favourite restaurant. Watch this space for photos .....
